1. How do I register to use the MatchHome service?

2. How is MatchHome different?
With MatchHome, you’re in control.
If you’re interested in a property as soon as you click the button to ‘arrange a viewing’, it’ll be seen by the vendor or landlord and they’ll get back to you accepting, or declining, your request to view. It also means that when it comes to paperwork (tenancy agreements, advertising etc.) it’s all arranged through us and all of our fees are set out here – therefore you only pay for the services you need and you’re guaranteed a great price with NO COMMISSION on top!
3. Why do you need my credit score?
Your credit score authenticates your MatchHome profile. This not only prequalifies you to view properties, it also prevents any fake registrations so we can ensure a genuine service to all of our users.
MatchHome will never release your information, but obtaining your credit score early on in the buying or letting process means that things are less likely to fall through at the end. Doing your own credit search also means that there’s no need to pay hefty fees for a simple credit check and that any potential vendor or landlord will already be aware of your financial situation before agreeing a viewing.
4. Why is my credit score important?
Your credit score is a simple way of displaying your financial stability to vendors and landlords and it helps them when making decisions on who should view their property. Having a low credit score doesn’t mean you’ll automatically be declined though. Instead, we’ll direct you to credit experts who will advise on how to boost your credit profile over time, while we help you identify suitable properties in your area right now.
5. What is my colour code and how do I change it?
Your colour code is simply an easy and less detailed way of displaying your credit score. Once you’ve clicked the link on your profile page to obtain your latest credit score, you’ll be able to select the correct colour to represent your Experian result.
6. Can a landlord or vendor refuse my viewing request?
Yes, of course. Just as we like to protect our buyers and tenants by prequalifying them for any viewings, we also protect our vendors and landlords by allowing them to make all the choices on the people that view and eventually go on to rent or buy their property.
Don’t worry though, declined viewing requests are rare, especially if you have a good credit rating.
7. Something’s come up, can I alter my arranged viewing time?
Of course, these things happen. You’ll find the option to change your appointment on your profile, although your new selected time will also need to be accepted by the other party.
All that we ask is that you give as much notice as possible when altering your appointments.
Please note, the number of times you can alter an appointment is limited. After this, the appointment will be cancelled.
8. I’ve decided to cancel an appointment on my property, is that okay?
Providing the cancellation takes place at least 48 hours before the scheduled appointment you will not be subject to any cancellation fees.
9. I’ve decided I don’t want to sell or let my property after all, what should I do?
You should phone and email the MatchHome team to let us know you intend to cancel the service. Providing no appointments have been made or you cancel at least 48 hours before any scheduled appointments then you’ll receive a full refund of your marketing package. Should you cancel less than 48 hours before a scheduled appointment, you’ll be charged a cancellation fee of £42 (inc. VAT) which will be deducted from the marketing fee refund – you’ll find our cancellation terms here.
10. How long will it take for my refund to arrive?
All refunds will be processed within 21 days. You’ll receive your refunded amount as a cheque in the post.
11. How long will my property be on your site?
We will market all properties for 12 months, or until your property is let or sold. 12 months is counted from the day your advert initially goes live in order to make sure you get the maximum exposure.
If the sale of your property falls through or your let lapses within the 12 months, then we’ll remarket your property on our website for free.
12. I don’t have a solicitor; can you recommend one to help with the legalities of my sale?
Of course. Our professional conveyancers will be happy to handle the legal side of the sale for you, including the transfer of deeds. Please be aware that you’ll be required to pay for your search fees when instructed. However, should the sale fall through you’ll receive a second search free of charge.
